Salmata Ouedraogo is a professor in the economics and administrative sciences department at the University of Quebec at Chicoutimi (UQAC). She holds a doctorate (Ph.D.) in applied economics from the joint program which brings together the four major Montreal universities: the John Molson School of Management of Concordia University, the École des Hautes Études Commerciales de Montréal (HEC), McGill University, and the University of Quebec in Montreal. She also holds a Diploma of Advanced Studies in Environmental Economics. His specialization in the microeconomics of development brought him into contact with practical development issues in research, such as multidimensional poverty, social inequalities, the socio-economic impact of projects, gender, health, and education.
Ms. Ouedraogo was the director of recruitment and international mobility at the international office, the director of the master’s degree in organizational management, and the master’s degree in project management. She is currently the academic manager of UQAC’s outsourced programs in Senegal. She received the title of Knight of the Order of the Stallion of Burkina Faso. She is also a member of the Circle of Excellence of the University of Quebec and a 2023 winner of Black History Month.
With a book project on the drawing board, this woman of spirit and heart is involved with communities and volunteer campaigns to make people understand that the economy is not just numbers; it is, above all, a multidimensional social dimension in which parties have the power of action to create solutions to reduce social inequalities.
